As a homeschool parent, you prioritize your child’s learning. This includes diversifying the way that they learn and allowing them to connect with other children!

If you have a child in grade K - 5, want your child to explore creativity through reading and writing, and want them to develop confidence in their self-expression, then the DROPLETS enrichment program is a great opportunity for your child!

DROPLETS is a literacy-based enrichment program specially designed for homeschool families, guiding children K-5 on a voyage of creative discovery. Through engaging word play and imaginative storytelling, DROPLETS cultivates not just literacy skills, but the confidence to share one’s own unique voice. Drip by drop, we make learning a delightful downpour!

DROPLETS is hosted by Ms. Mary Ostrowski. Mary is a 20 year veteran educator. She’s taught kids of all ages from preschool through high school, led an international school as Head of School, and now owns her own preschool.

Here is what parents are saying about working with Ms. Mary at the Drizzle Effect:

"The [writing] workshop was a much needed confidence-booster for our daughter. In the safe and nurturing camp environment, she was able to think creatively and try new things. We are very grateful that she learned new writing skills, but we are most thankful that the camp encouraged her to be in a growth mindset. I think the skills, practice, and confidence will be very helpful as my normally-anxious child transitions into the new year."

DROPLETS may not be a good fit for your child if:

  • You are looking for a more rigid or traditional academic curriculum

  • You are interested in advanced literacy tutoring for your child

  • You want your child to have a high-frequency schedule

  • You are looking for a substitute to comprehensive homeschooling curriculum

Here’s what a sample DROPLETS schedule may look like :

9:30AM - Free/ Storytelling with Provocation

9:45AM - Morning Meeting with Story or Word Work

10:15AM - Snack

10:30AM - Literacy Exploration

11:30AM - Presentation + Reflection

Your child could have an experience like this:

"My son's confidence in his writing abilities went from medium before Mary's writing workshop to very high afterwards. His dedication and enthusiasm towards writing were the greatest outcome!"
